Flawless. Mar 18, 2012

After quite a lot of research and shopping on wooden watches (almost 3 days worth) I decided to go with the Tense watch company. All had cool-looking designs but had major flaws in some way upon personal inspection. Tense just seemed better than the others. They used sustainable African and Indian wood, manufactured their watches in Canada instead of China (like WeWood and Flud) and Tense's range of styles and colors were broader not to mention the colors were more vivid. Their black wood looks black, unlike Wewood's "Date black" watch which is actually very dark brown.
So It was a choice between Tense, Wewood and Flud. Wewood was my first choice and I ended up buying a watch but in hindsight it was a mistake. Upon receiving the watch it looked great but came with almost no instructions. I had already read about the band being full-length and how hard it was to remove the links. Luckily I have tools small enough to fit the screws. The problem is that you need two of them. You also need to simultaneously hold both screwdrivers in place while turning one of them. This was a feat that required tremendous dexterity, almost 45 minutes to take off both sets of links and put them back together. Another HUGE flaw is the clasp. This thing is unbelievably frustrating, especially if you wear your watches tight. Very awkward design. Not worth the 120 bucks in the slightest. Flud was even less of a prospect due to their poor reviews on Youtube and Amazon. Apparently their watches fall apart very quickly.
On the other hand, the Tense watch took less than 5-10 minutes to unscrew the links and reassemble it. You only need one screwdriver to do this, by the way. It is sturdier than the Wewood (I think) and the clasp is a normal "Z" like you see in most nice metal watches. Also, very detailed instructions and it comes in a very fancy case. Me likey.

Beautiful watch, and a wonderful gift! The watch has a smaller head then I expected though. The craft of the watch is beautiful and very well done. the box it comes in is very nice, but the one I received was damaged. Over all great product!
